Shiny Fish

This version of Shiny Fish is a variation of the Mosaic Flower
It's an example of how the craft can be modified to fit a younger audience.

The free-style painting segment encourages creativity,
and teaches a new colour (silver).

Fish are so much fun! Particularly when paint (read: getting messy!) is involved. The preparation of the mosaic background requires children to sit and concentrate, encouraging a longer attention span. Kids will also learn about shiny and reflective materials.
This craft is most suitable for 2.5 - 3 year olds with parental help.

Aquarium - Here Fishy Fishy Fishy!

Buggy Bee Kids was invited to do a craft session at Little Skool House. They wanted a simple craft which reinforced the 3 primary colours, to be in line with their Nursery 1 curriculum. The challenge was to have all 13 pieces of work completed in half an hour.

To let the kids experience different ways of adding colour, and to keep them interested, they were asked to paint, colour with crayons, and paste old angpow paper. They were more than happy to get dirty!

These aquariums were all made by Nursery 1 students (20-36 months old) with very little adult help.

Mission accomplished!

An Introduction to Buggy Bee Kids!

ABOUT US
Buggy Bee Kids introduces children to a world of fun out of school and aims to promote creativity through crafting activities.

To inculcate the message of recycling amongst the children, most Buggy Bee Kids activities include recycled materials where possible. Other materials tend to be items that are easily found at home or in the neighborhood to encourage children to explore and develop an inquisitive mind.

HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OUT OF YOUR BUGGY BEE KIDS SESSIONS
  • Keep group sizes small. A group size of 3-6 children is optimal.
  • All materials are provided unless otherwise stated. If and when you are requested to prepare specific materials, please have them ready before Craft session to ensure that children are able to enjoy the full session and preparation doesn’t eat into the Craft session
  • It is advisable for tables used during Craft session to be covered with plastic, newspaper or mahjong paper, to remain clean.
  • Please advise your Buggy Bee Kids co-ordinator on the final number and ages of participants 1 week before Craft session as materials will be prepared only for confirmed participants.
  • If you are attending the session with your child (compulsory for 2.5-3 year olds), don’t worry if he/she is not doing the craft “right”. Relax and enjoy, and let the child in you shine through!
